Trip Itinerary

Today is your arrival day. We welcome you upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer you to Hotel in Kathmandu or Bhaktapur. A city briefing concerning the necessary formalities on your tour and trek program ahead will follow. Depending upon your arrival time you may spend free time visiting nearby historic/Countryside areas or resting. In the evening, traditional Nepali Welcome dinner in an authentic Nepali Restaurant with the cultural dances and music. Overnight Hotel in Kathmandu

Half day sightseeing in Kathmandu World Heritage site where your guide will accompany you on a tour of UNESCO enlisted temples and unique fusion shrines of Newari architecture, reflecting a rare blend of Hinduism and Buddhism. There is enough time to explore the city’s many places of interest with your guide or on your own or simply take a rest. Our Trek Leader/Guide will meet you in the afternoon for trek briefing and final trek preparation. Overnight Hotel in Kathmandu.

Drive from Kathmandu for about 5 hours to the village of Dumre. Here you will be met by our staffs for the drive from here to Besisahar. The rough road to Besisahar takes about 1:30 hours. From here it is a short walk 15 minutes down to the Marshyangdi where we camp for the first night.

The route turns steeply uphill in the middle of the village of Besisahar. The route then lies up the southern flanks of this east west valley then circles across it, and after about one hour there is a steep three quarters of an hor climb up through scrub country, reaching the top of the climb in forest. The change is dramatic as we emerge into a very beautiful plateau area at Baglung Pani. Plenty of good campsites and marvellous mountain views. (5 hrs)

The view back east past  Manaslu TO Ganesh Himal, and north to the Lamjung Himal and the Annapurna are superb, and a delightful ridge walk leads north- west before a steepish climb up to the village of Ghanapokhara. There are some good campsites on the north side of the village and the afternoon can be well spent in exploring this most attractive of Gurung villages, with its mud and wattle ochre painted houses with thatch roofs. Lots of interest and plenty of local activity around, though during harvest seasons many of the villagers will be down during much of the day in the fields cover the hillside for 990 m.(5 hrs)

From Ghanpokhara we go up onto the ridge.Generally a lot of up and down ridge walking is quite strenuous and the rewarding at the same time. The route passes through Rhododendron and Bamboo forest. A wide variety of birdlife is ever present in this route. A lunch spot/campsite is found at the nearest available water source in the middle of the forest. (5 hrs)

Again another tough day. Trek up directly above the camp along a vague trail that takes on to the ridge leading to the top of Telbrong Danda. In the clear weather day the views are spectacular from this ridge which is similar and closer than from Ghanapokhara. We carry our packed lunch before we head the route that travels along the ridge through the Rhododendron forest and the occasional high pasture grazing land. We descend slightly reaching the campsite known as the “Base Camp”. (This camp is used occasionally before a crossing of the Namun Pass (5335 m)6 hrs

Today the walk is not so long. An early morning climb of the ridge above last nights campsite is recommended with a return to the campsite for lunch. Good views of Himalchuli – Manaslu – Peak 29 and Boudha can be seen from this spectacular vantage point. After lunch drop down be low campsite heading south through Rhododendron forest. Several small waterfalls are encountered. The trail then begins to climb up again and at one point gets very steep until it reaches the Rambrong Danda ridge. Then drop down onto a high grazing area which makes a good camping area. (4 hrs)

Today may be used as a rest day. For the energetic a limb up to Rambrong Danda(4155 m) is recommended. A steep climb up the ridge lying directly above the camp site up rock/ grass slopes (or snow). At the top very fine views of Lamjung Himal(6983 m) directly ahead can be seen and slightly to the west Annapurna I(8091 M), Annapurna II(7937 M), Annapurna IV(7525 m) and Machhapuchhare (6993 m) more distant views to the east Manaslu (8156 m) and Himalchuli.(3 hrs)

We drop down into the valley below and there is about 1:30 hours downhill walking through scrubland. We soon meet the adjoining ridge and enter some beautiful Rhododendron mixed with pine and oak forest. Here there is the chance of seeing Impeyan Pheasants and Tragopan which are fairly common in this area. The trail leads upwards for approximately 1:30 hours until a campsite is met at the next available water spot at Choprong. Note: if only a couple of tents are being used it is advisable to move on and extra half an hour to “Beyond Choprong” where the views and the surrounding forest area is slightly more attractive.(4 hrs)

Once again quite gentle ridge walking with fairly gentle slopes through Rhododendron and European Oak forests. Lunch is normally taken quite early in a fairly large meadow clearing where water is readily available. From here one moves along the ridge to Karpu Hill and begins a very steep and precarious descent down a” mountain goat” trail where extreme caution must be taken to watch ones footing. The trail becomes wider after about half an hour but continues its knee-wobbling descent all the way to Yanjakot. The first civilisation since leaving Ghanpokhara.

Drop down into the Modi Khola river valley and trek along the north bank for 2 hours or so. An early lunch may be taken next to river. This is a lovely spot to take a rest day and unwind from the rigours of being at higher altitudes. The river also offers some great bathing.

We cros over to the south bank of the Modi Khola and then a steep climb up for 460 m. The trail then winds around the ridgeline to the west then up on to the crest of the ridge at Lipyani, a busy little Bhanjyang village. Vehicle our will be waiting for us in the scenic ridge to drive to Pokhara. It’s about 45 minute to Pokhara from Kalikasthan.

After the Breakfast we drive to Domestic airport of Pokhara to Fly ot Kathmandu. It’s a short nearly 25 minutes flight with Budha air offers you scenic and stunning Mountain flught to Kathmandu. We meet you at Kathmandu airport to transfer to Hotel in Kathmandu.
